PRESIDENT ´S MESSAGE - MENSAJE DEL PRESIDENTE - WAO - ACADEMIA MUNDIAL DE ALERGIA

20 September 2016 Dear Friends and Colleagues, The World Allergy Organization (WAO) is only as strong as the membership that constitutes it. We cannot realize our mission of providing direct educational outreach programs, symposia, and lectureships without the collaboration and support of our 97 national and regional member societies. Therefore, on behalf of WAO, I’d like to personally recognize and thank all of our member societies as their efforts in moving the field of allergy forward in their respective countries are instrumental in advancing our specialty around the world. The World Allergy Organization is dedicated to supporting our member societies in a number of ways. This includes partnering with member societies at WAO meetings and supporting speakers to represent WAO as presenters at national and regional allergy conferences, congresses and other medical meetings. WAO representatives recently participated in annual meetings of the Argentinian Association of Allergy & Clinical Immunology (AAAeIC) and the Guatemalan Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Association (GAACIA). Thank you to AAAeIC for inviting me to speak at their XXXIX Congress in Buenos Aires from 10-12 August. Congratulations to Dr. René A. Baillieau and the members of AAAeIC on a successful congress. I’d also like to congratulate the members of GAACIA on their successful meeting where WAO President-Elect, Prof. Ignacio Ansotegui and Dr. Dana Wallace presented lectures to the delegates at the 2016 National Allergy Congress in Guatemala City, 10-12 August. The World Allergy Organization also partners with our member societies to co-host many of our meetings, including the World Allergy Congress and WAO International Scientific Conference. This 6-9 December, WAO is partnering with the Israel Association of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (IAACI), a WAO member society and its mutual collaborating partner, Allergists for Israel (AFI), to bring you the 2016 WAO International Scientific Conference (WISC) in Jerusalem. WAO, IAACI, and AFI are working together to bring our attendees a dynamic scientific program with world-renown speakers and cutting-edge lectures and symposia on topics of great interest and importance.
